Why join a fraternity?
Rush - Zeta Pi Chapter of Sigma Nu
College is four years of your life where you are to develop as a person that lived with your parents for 18 years to a person that can live on your own and be a productive citizen. Joining a fraternity can shape you into the well-rounded individual that can thrive upon graduating from the university. Here are some statistics that exemplify how fraternities develop the leaders of tomorrow:

Only 2% of men in America have been or are in fraternities. Yet in that 2%, Greeks (term used to describe fraternity members) have demonstrated a conspicuously disproportionate level of achievement.

71% of those listed in "Who's Who in America" belong to a fraternity.

Of the nation's 50 largest corporations, fraternity men head 43.

85% of the Fortune 500 executives belong to a fraternity.

40 of 47 U.S. Supreme Court Justices since 1910 were fraternity men.

76% of all Congressmen and Senators belong to a fraternity.

Every U.S. President and Vice President, except two in each office, born since the first social fraternity was founded in 1825 have been members of a fraternity.

63% of the U.S. President's Cabinet members since 1900 have been Greek.

Given this information you can see that joining a fraternity is very beneficial to your future career(s) whatever they may be. Joining a fraternity gives you the opportunity to be very active in your school, in your community, and develop your leadership and team building skills.

Why join Sigma Nu?

Sigma Nu is a fraternity that does not fit into the stereotype of present day fraternities. At Texas Tech University we emphasize scholastics, athletics, and our values because we know that these traits will carry past your college experience.

Since 1953, Sigma Nu at Texas Tech has been striving to excel in every aspect of college life, and that tradition will never change. We realize the reason you have come to Tech is for an education, and we want to ensure your success in achieving your academic goals as is evident in our scholarship program. Sigma Nu helps to enhance both Tech and Lubbock with our various community service projects throughout the year. To ensure success during and after college, the Zeta Pi chapter uses the nationally acclaimed LEAD Program, which was developed for Sigma Nu Fraternity by some of the world’s most successful businessmen. The Sigma Nu LEAD Program stands for Leadership, Ethics, Achievement, and Development. Sigma Nu believes that the development of ethical leadership is a valid expectation for higher education. We will provide you with a lifelong brotherhood and a network of over 225,000 alumni in over 285 chapters nationwide for priceless connections in the business and professional world. Sigma Nu can promise you a strong social calendar including such annual events as our Yacht Club, World War Nu, Blackfoot/Whitefoot, and White Rose Formal, as well as mixers and date parties throughout the year. Three out of the past five years, Sigma Nu has been named as the nation’s top fraternal system; we didn’t get there by having a lack of determination or looking to be second best. We offer an environment in which you can develop to your fullest. Sigma Nu does not exist day by day, we look to the future. We excel in scholarship, athletics(winning the blanket for the red division for 06-07 and 07-08), and social activities, but beyond the ultimate in college experiences, we retain a warm, down-to-earth brotherhood. Now is the time to get acquainted with Sigma Nu. Take advantage of this opportunity to meet all kinds of people
. . . and see why we make the difference!

If you feel that this fraternity is the right fit for you or if you are simply interested in finding out more about Sigma Nu, then please, fill out our recruitment form.  Feel free to call any of our officers, or personally visit our house to learn more about what our chapter is all about.
